Family Tree

Updated: Oct 8, 2019

This is a slimmed-down version of the complicated and notoriously twisty Cadmean family tree. Those names listed are the ones that are either name-checked within the cycle or of enough significance that they do not bear leaving out; some have deaths that are resonant for Oedipus’ personal narrative, some need special distinction due to divine or other supernatural status. We begin with Agenor as he is the earliest named ancestor and we end with Oedipus’ children; in this particular timeline of Thebes, none of them have lived long enough to procreate, and therefore the line is broken. -Emma
